Jason Steps Down From Divine Ascension

Jason has decided to retire from his position in Divine Ascension. As an amazing musician and most importantly a close friend, it is difficult to imagine the band without this outstanding individual. He leaves behind a long list of incredible experiences both here and abroad and we are extremely grateful to have shared them all with him during his time in the band. We would like to wish Jason the very best in all his future endeavours.

Jason states:
“It is with great regret that I have decided to retire from my position as bassist for Divine Ascension.

Music/art is incredible in the way it has the ability to transcend time. Songs, stories and images (from eons ago to newly birthed) can all metamorphosise and evolve, enlightening us with new relevance when we apply them to our current age and interpret them with the fresh eyes of what is happening around us. For some, art is an escape from the rigors of our world, others use it as their release of emotions, and for the remaining, it is a reflection of their heart, honesty and soul, living by their art with unwavering conviction. None of the aforementioned are any more or less valuable than the other. We all choose how we interact with art and how much we personally choose to invest into our lives.

Over the years, the band has been asked countless times, where did the name Divine Ascension come from? I cannot answer that for the band. All I can answer is, what does the name Divine Ascension mean to me? I love the art we have created whilst I have been in Divine Ascension. The music represents empowerment. Enabling strength and courage in those who need the support through tough times, breaking the shackles of conformity and forging our own paths regardless of social consensus and consequences, lifting the veil of our programming and looking at the world anew. As I listen to our music and reflect on the art we’ve created, it resonates with me, even more strongly today than ever before. For me, Divine Ascension is not just a name, it is our journey through life, seeking truth, honesty and freedom in all that we do.

The past eight years in Divine Ascension has been an incredible experience! It has given me the opportunity to create some sensational art, travel around the world, meet and hear from so many of our fans personally and hopefully touch the lives of many more. I would like to sincerely thank all my band mates past and present (Jen, Karl, Luke, Dave and Robb), and all the friends and fans I have made along the way. You have all enriched my life immensely and for that I am eternally grateful. As I continue on my own journey forward in this brave new world, I wish you all well on your own paths to Divine Ascension!”
